Drum Major and Drill Sergeant Major for the 48th Highlanders


Master Warrant Officer Chris Reesor joined the Canadian Armed Forces Primary Reserves in November 1990. From July 1996 to November 2002, MWO Reesor was on the full time instructional staff at the Canadian Forces Music Training Detachment as the Drill and Drum Major Instructor for all courses during that time.


He was appointed as the Regimental Drum Major of the 48th Highlanders in September 1997 and was promoted to his current rank in May of 2013. He is the Senior Drum Major for Pipes and Drums in the Canadian Army Reserve. In his role as Drum Major, he has taken bands to many international Tattoos and on tours, including to Holland in 2000, Italy in 2003, Scotland in 2009 and the past three Fortissimo events on Parliament Hill in Canada. He has also been on the production staff of several Tattoos as the Senior Drum Major, Pipes and Drums including the Alberta Centennial Tattoo, Stone Mountain Tattoo, every occurrence of the Rochester Marine Tattoo and the 2011 and 2012 Virginia International Tattoos in Norfolk.


He is currently entering his 19th year as the Regimental Drum Major of the 48th. In March 2011 he was asked to fill the role of Drill Sergeant Major in addition to his Drum Major duties. MWO Reesor has been awarded the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals and the Canadian Forces decoration with clasp for 22 plus years of service.
